The Casita is a stylish two bedroom home built in 1958 and located in a remote part of the desert around 20 mins from the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park in the US state of Californa.

Welcome to The Casita by The Joshua Tree House! The house has two bedrooms, one larger King-sized bedroom and a slightly smaller, yet just as lovely Queen bedroom. The bedrooms have been expertly decorated and feature artworks by Julia Kostreva and Aleksandra Zee.

There is a fully-equipped kitchen in the house that comes with all the essentials you need to cook meals and host your friends for a dinner party. There is also a large outdoor picnic table and grill (BBQ) for dinner and evening drinks out under the stars.

The house comes with an outdoor hot tub and hammock for spending lazy days relaxing and both are free to use during your stay.

What makes the casita extra special are the over 900 acres of protected land around it that serve as a wildlife corridor to Joshua Tree National Park. You'll see many kinds of birds, antelope squirrels, lizards, cottontail rabbits, jackrabbits and maybe even a desert tortoise or a coyote!

Good to know

The Casita is about a 12-minute drive into town, and 15 minutes to the nearest grocery store. If would you would prefer being walking distance to town, then we highly recommend The Casita's sister property, The Joshua Tree House.

Location

The Casita is located in Joshua Tree, California, United States. This unique region of California is characterized by rugged rock formations and stark desert landscapes. Named for the region’s twisted, bristled Joshua trees, the park straddles the cactus-dotted Colorado Desert and the Mojave Desert.

Joshua Tree is a small community made up of musicians, artists, and explorers. In the village, you will find locally owned and run restaurants, art galleries, music venues, and vintage shops. The region also plays host to numerous music festivals each year such as the famous Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and the Joshua Tree Music Festival.

How to get there

The nearest airport to Joshua tree is Indio/Palm Springs Airport. The airport is located 3 miles (about 3 km) outside of Palm Springs, California and has regular connections to most major cities in the United States. Public transport in the region is limited so we would recommend that you hire a car. It's about a 2 and a half hour drive from Los Angeles.
