Just a stone's throw from Glastonbury amongst the coastal plains and farmlands of Somerset sits this 18th-century Georgian farmhouse that has undergone a delightfully creative restoration by designers Jane Peck and Simon Ledson.

Designed with passion and artistic flair, this simple rural farmhouse has been given new life as an enchantingly creative holiday home. Despite its modern upgrade, the rustic structure retains all of its country charms but with a stylish infusion of a vibrant and quirky new personality.

The owners are both designers and painters, and all of the interior design of Godney Arts House, soft furnishings, paintings and upcycled furniture has been either made or restored by Simon & Jane.

The ground floor entry hall opens into a sunny south facing living room and dining area with a cosy fireplace for winter nights, with an adjacent fully equipped eat-in country kitchen updated for modern chefs. Upstairs are two double en-suite bedrooms with a spacious attic bedroom that can accommodate up to four more.

The bathrooms have all been upgraded to modern standards and feature beautiful statement Bathtubs that are just begging to be relaxed in. Natural timber floorboards throughout and copper pipes help remind you that this house is over 200 years old despite its modern and eclectic appearance.

Outside, a lovely and inviting little garden and outdoor dining area is a private refuge that you will have all to yourself.

Location

Situated by the river Sheppey in Godney between Wells & Glastonbury. Cardiff is 44 km from Godney Arts House, while Bristol is 32 km from the holiday home. The nearest airport is Bristol Airport, 32 km from Godney Arts House.

Godney is within a short walk from the house and has an excellent pub and cheerful small-town atmosphere while the historic town of Wells is just a few miles east with its stunning medieval architecture and lively markets. Home to the iconic music fest and alt-culture vibe, nearby Glastonbury is just four miles away. Bath and Bristol are with an hours drive.

How to get there

The nearest airport is Bristol Airport which is about 25-minutes drive away. The airport has numerous daily connections to many European cities and is serviced by EasyJet and Ryanair.

There is not a lot of public transport connections in this area so we highly recommend that you hire a car if you don't have access to one. If you don't have a car, there is a bus option which involves taking the A1 from Bristol Airport to Bristol centre, then taking the 376 Bus to Glastonbury. Both buses run every 30-minutes or so.
