The history of Amsterdam is intimately connected with water. Its 165 canals were created over the centuries to stimulate trade and transport and reclaim land to expand the city. So, what better way to enjoy a stay in Amsterdam than on one of these famous canals, in a modern and well-design houseboat.
This wonderful and well-maintained houseboat is located in the Grachtengordel residential area in the middle of Amsterdam. It's quite close to the action, yet far enough away from the busy tourist districts that you'll be able to relax in peace and quiet and have the opportunity of feeling like you're a local.
Spend the mornings sitting on the little deck with a cup of coffee before you head out for the day and finish it off with a glass of wine in the evening as you watch the sunset over the canals. The canals have quite a bit of bird-life so don't be surprised if some of the local Swans decide to pay you a visit during your stay.
The houseboat consists of one main bedroom with a large queen sized bed. Whilst the houseboat is ideally suited for two guests. It can take four if needed as there is a fold-out sleeping sofa in the living room.
Despite this being a houseboat, the little kitchen comes fully equipped with all the essentials you may need during your stay including a gas stove, full sized fridge, and oven.
The houseboat is located in the Grachtengordel neighborhood which is in the Centrum district. The area is known for its small bridges going over the canals and 17th-century canal homes. The Anne Frank House is located nearby on Prinsengracht (the Princes Canal).
The houseboat is just a few Metro stops away from Amsterdam Centraal Train station. From there you can get to almost any other city in Europe. There are regular train connections to Schipol Airport as well as all the way to Paris and London on the Eurostar.
The property is also well serviced by the Amsterdam Tram network and it's only a few minutes walk to the nearest stop which gives you quick access to the rest of Amsterdam.
