The Seed of Time Modern Home is a stunningly designed renovation of an old family home in the small Southern Italian city of Altamura, Puglia.

The renovation of the old Puglian house was commissioned to Design Studio GG-loop by the parents of the founding architect Giacomo Garziano. They gave him free reign to design what he wanted and challenged him to refurbish their 4th generation family house in Altamura originally built by Cherubino Graziano, the great-grandfather of the architect.

This refurbishment project is composed of two parts: an exterior one called Gentle Genius, an interior one called the Infection. These two parts correspond to two different movements: the observation, enabling protection from the outside, the action enabling the curing potential from inside. Together they form The Seed of Time, the union of conscious and unconscious, of the King and the Queen, of the Sun and the Moon.

The house first opened in 2015 as a cultural and artistic project and is now available for short term holiday rentals so that you too can enjoy this architectural wonder.

The house can sleep 2 adults and consists of a spacious lounge room featuring bright blue geometric sofas, a large fully-equipped kitchen and a private rooftop deck. The entire space is available to you. Use it for reading, listening, watching, smelling, tasting and meditating.

THE SEED OF TIME is located just outside the city centre of the beautiful town of Altamura in the Southern Italian province of Puglia. The town is famous for its own local type of bread called Pane di Altamura which the locals have been making since the Middle Ages.

While you are here you should also visit the Altamura Municipal Museum which has an impressive archaeology museum with many artefacts from the region dating back up to 2500 years.

How to get there

The town is 45km from the city of Bari which is also where the nearest Airport is as well as regular Train services to Rome, Brindisi and Bologna. There is a train operated by Trenitalia that runs from Altamura to Bari every hour and takes around 1 hour and 15 minutes.
